My husband and I embarked on an unforgettable last-minute trip to the Finger Lakes region in upstate New York, and it turned out to be one of our best travel experiences ever.

Camping in Comfort: We decided to camp at Taughannock State Park, and it pleasantly surprised us. Not only did it offer picturesque surroundings, but it also boasted some of the cleanest camping bathrooms we've ever encountered. Plus, it was conveniently located across the street from the crystal-clear waters of Cayuga Lake, making for refreshing swims on hot summer days.
Scenic Hiking Adventures: Our love for hiking led us to explore some fantastic trails in the area. Here are a couple of our top picks:

Robert H. Treman State Park: Offering a 4.5-mile loop trail, this park boasts a rim trail and gorge trail that provide stunning views and opportunities to connect with nature. Don't forget to bring your dog along, as it's pet-friendly.
Watkins Glen State Park: While this park may not allow dogs on the trails, it makes up for it with its mesmerizing gorge trail. The rim trail and gorge trail loop will take you through captivating natural beauty, and it's an easy hike suitable for everyone.
